My heart skipped a beat when I first saw the exterior of this gorgeous 18th century manor house in Dordogne, France (east of Bordeaux); I love the brick walls and light blue shutters. When I saw the rest of the photos I wanted to move in. I'm all for exposed beams and brickwork; they are my idea of cosiness. I really like the use of neutral colours and the bleached floorboards in the living room are so beautiful. The kitchen is a little bit too contemporary for my taste but it has some balance so I like it. And look at that wood burner! sigh
Our younger daughter came down with a fever yesterday so it'll mainly be a relaxing day in bed with books and DVDs. I've decided to make a chicken noodle soup for dinner with a lot of ginger because after my December experience I've had it with sickness.
Have a wonderful Tuesday!

My heart just skipped a beat too, Lisa. Look at that picturesque exterior and the gorgeous living room (piano-beams-chandelier, oh my!). Actually at the first I thought the kitchen was a bit too contemporary for my taste too, but the use of wood and stone balance the look nicely.
ReplyDeleteI hope your daughter feels better in no time, Lisa. Have a beautiful day! xo
Ooooh this looks heavenly!! Look at that house, it looks like its from a fairytale. And the interior feels so calm, chic and warm. This a gem, for sure. Dordogne was on our destination list last summer, seeing this I'm thinking next time we should go there.
ReplyDeleteHope your little girl feels better very soon and health will return to your home!
I just closed my eyes and imagined pulling up pin a hire car to that house at the start of a holiday - BLISS! It's so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThis home is so charming. Cozy indeed!! Stonework, brick, and exposed beams are my favorite design elements in homes. :)
ReplyDeleteI think I could spend all day with book curled up in that chair next to the wood stove! Beautiful!
Oh my, this is just gorgeous!!! I love the exposed brick. This whole place looks so cozy. Exactly where I wish I could spend today :)
ReplyDeleteHope your daughter feels better soon! xoxo
Ah it looks amazing! I could definitely move in there! Thanks for all your comments, Lisa, I'm back at last and it's great to be able to finally catch up! Good luck with your daughter, the chicken soup sounds like it will do the trick xx
ReplyDeleteWOW LOVE THAT HOUSE.
ReplyDeleteHope your girl feels better.
Mmmmm chicken noodle soup sounds scrumptious.
How pretty! I love the little touches like the coat/wellie room which make the stunning house look like a home. The neutral tones keep it contemporary as well.
ReplyDelete*Sigh* - so beautiful! I really need to get myself a house soon, it´s so annoying that we have to wait until 2014 until they release the land we want... :-/
ReplyDeleteThis house is so great.
ReplyDeleteThe interior so tasteful!
The bathroom is wonderful, the chair near the fireplace ........

Um. Wow. Yes. Okay. I'll take it. When can I move in??
ReplyDeleteI just want to live there... x
ReplyDeletethose stones on the walls... the tree bars on the ceiling... just perfect!
ReplyDeleteThat is a good looking house... Now I can't play the piano but I'd love to have one in the lounge and I wasn't really into exposed beams but I'm starting to come around particularly with a bit more of a modern vibe to the decorating. I do like the kitchen but those chairs don't do it for me. But, hey, I could visit for a while!

*sigh* The French always get it right! You had me at the blue shutters! The Dordogne is on my travel schedule for this year so you have got me super excited for my trip!
ReplyDeleteSuch a charming French home; the exposed brickwork gives it such a lovely and cozy feeling. The dining room is perfection! xx
ReplyDeleteOh, And there is a piano!! In my perfect dream house there is a piano next to a big fireplace. And Ewan McGregor is playing it. Ha!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on your idea of coziness, the more rustic it is the better. Old houses have always a great feeling.
That place is really something! In and out..
ReplyDeleteI want to go too¡¡¡ Great¡¡
