cast iron bliss

Yesterday hubby decided to take us to a family restaurant he had heard of. My mind immediately pictured children running around screaming and exhausted parents trying to enjoy their meal, but was I in for a surprise! It turned out to be a really nice place on several floors with a small area to sit outside. Want to hear the unbelievable part? Children eat separately on the top floor and parents aren't allowed to enter the area. There is a gate! I'm not kidding. The children loved it. The restaurant is called SensUnik, located at Molenstraat 69, 2018 Antwerp. I'm calling it cast iron bliss. We sat outside without the children in wonderful weather and what I ordered was served in beautiful cast iron pots. I had sea bass poached in white wine with potatoes, asparagus, mushrooms and peas (hubby got ribs with pineapple) and for dessert rhubarb and strawberry crumble with a touch of vanilla ice cream. Total food bliss.

Enjoy your Sunday everyone!

  2. The colors and the light in these photo's are fabulous, what a gorgeous green pot! It seems to me like a great restaurant and very cool for the kids to eat in 'their own space';) hope you have a really nice day.

  3. The food sounds delicious, but what a coo idea about having a separate dining area for kids! I wish this idea would spread across European restaurants!

Glad you had such a wonderful time Lisa! xoxo
