lille dream

Does anyone want to join me daydreaming about living in a house like that? Sigh! This one is in Lille, France, built in 1800. I love the visible rafters in the bedroom. If you click on the link below you can view the gallery. I didn't include the living room because the walls bothered me, but in there is a gorgeous ottoman worth seeing.

I hope you all have a great day!

PS. It's so good to have hubby back home. I got two bottles of Chanel nail polish (yes, he knows me pretty well) and the August issue of Vogue because he didn't find the September issue anywhere.

  3. @Yvonne: the autumn collection isn't available yet but he gave me Beige Pétale (567) from the summer collection, which is beautiful. And a gold shade which I already had so I've to return it ;-)

  6. Awwwwwwwwwwww.... My Mr buys me Vogue, too. :) Aren't they wonderful, our husbands? :)
What shades of Chanel did you get?
Thank you for sharing these photos. I really like how they combined modern pieces with antiques and LOVE that side table with lamps and the floor in a hall way.

    Have a great day, darling!

  9. Hi Lisa,

If you're in need of a really good magazine store in Antwerp, go to IMS (International Magazine Store) at Melkmarkt (near the Groenplaats and Dille en Kamille). I buy all my international fashion magazines there, including US Vogue. The new issue usually arrives the last Wednesday of the month, so one more week ahead of us before we can lay our hands on the glorious September issue!!

  13. I spent an hour browsing properties in France with the fiancee this morning (it's a dream of ours to someday have a place).....I would add this one to the list but something tells me it will {always} be out of our price range ;)

So happy your hubby is back....and sounds like he's a good gift giver! I've been thinking about chanel nail polish ever since your last post about it. Well, now that I have this ring on my finger, I have to have nice nails, right?? and only the best means....chanel! Ok, now that I've rationalized it, I'm off to the store ;)

  14. Ohh! I'm definitely dreaming about this one right along with you! right now i'm between renting a house/garage/yard in a not very hip place, or renting the top floor of an old victorian home in a very hip up-and-coming and super kid friendly place... it's a very difficult decision!

  18. Oh the French and their romantic houses. Love the concrete sink in the bathroom and the beams in the ceiling. Maybe we could rent it for a summer holiday? Or if everyone here pitches in we could have it for a week each ;)

  19. Wonderful home. Cosy in a traditional way, but also with modern touch. The bathroom is very well designed :)

  21. What a lovely house and funny as the table cloth and the bathing room looks so nice - but do I have a table cloth and a bathing room like that - I would have cleaned it up - because it was a mess - but in these pictures it looks gorgeous ;o)))
Hope you enjoy your guests ;o)
    Greetings

  22. That is a gorgeous house! A nice summer house perhaps? And I absolutely Adore an oval dining table - that is fabulous!!!! If only we had more space...

I love the mix of old and new... the kitchen is great, I love the exposed beams (not too much) and the bathroom modern touches. Its great.

    Helen

PS: Its good when husbands pick up on little things and know how to surprise their wives...And Chanel lipstick or nail polish always manages to put a smile on my face too! Enjoy.
