k&a: rice and almond pudding (risalamande)

Call me crazy but I'm listening to beautiful Christmas music as I write this and enjoying coffee and mandarin oranges. It's my right to be crazy so let it go! Well, I guess some of you are a bit crazy too because I was actually surprised to see how many were interested in me posting this recipe of a traditional Danish dessert. You guys are full of surprises.

So, I'm delivering and you'll now find the recipe of rice and almond pudding (risalamande) on kitchen & aroma. I told you that I was making the pudding yesterday so I could photograph it. That act brought on the Christmas spirit in my home with full force. There's no turning back now! It was somehow so festive to sit down at the dining table on a Sunday and enjoy the pudding. The only thing missing was the Christmas tree. Afterwards hubby and the children went swimming and then I turned on the Christmas music and grabbed my camera.

As many of you are interested in Nordic design I would like to tell you about that napkin I used. It's an Icelandic design by artist Hekla Bjork Gudmundsdottir who started her company HeklaÍslandi in 1996. Her work is beautiful and you can view it on her website.

By the way, Hekla is the name of an active volcano in Iceland. Are you scared, are you?

Enough with the Christmas and scary volcano talk. How are you doing today?

  5. I won't even to try any other dessert recipes, Lisa. I'll just visit your Kitchen & Aroma blog. I don't need anything else. But if you keep posting these it will take me to Christmas to try each and every one of them. The napkin is beautiful. Enjoy your day! xoxo
