This is what I have in mind when Bing Crosby sings I'm dreaming of a white Christmas. Okay, okay, I think about snow too. I love the simple Christmas decorations in this cosy white cottage. That oh so beautiful dining table took my breath away; looking at it makes my heart happy. sigh
The cottage is called Stugan, which simply means cottage. It's located in Stavern in Vestfold, at the outermost part of the Oslofjord. That, my friends, would be in Norway. To me this is white heaven with a touch of green nature – simple and perfect. It was featured in Allt om Fritidshus, a Swedish magazine, in 2010. I can so easily see myself spending Christmas there. Do you think the owners would mind if I showed up? I mean, I could bring something to that table. Yes I could!
Have a beautiful day and thank you for your sweet comments on my guest post yesterday.
PS. If you began humming that Christmas song during the reading then click here and embrace the Christmas spirit.

i fully agree. it's beautiful. and I'd almost prefer that kind of white christmas over the snowy kind :) thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOh, this looks so beautiful! The christmas decoration is very inspiring!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day,
Yvonne

Hello Lisa.
ReplyDeleteI don't have snow here but I love the song "I'm dreaming of a white Christimas". I love too the simple Christmas decoration in this white cottage and I love so much the red and green of the tradicional christmas and I also love to sing Christmas songs.
Hugs.
Mari
Now I'm dreaming of a white Christmas too. And I think the owners would more than welcome you in their home. Have a beautiful day, Lisa! xo
ReplyDelete:)))) I prefer white Christmas inside and green and warm Christmas outside! That last picture says a lot about Stavern in Vestfold weather: you need a fur blanket and a fireplace if you still want to pay them a visit! I keep forgetting that you have an Icelandic passport ;)! I love that vintage light green armoire and on top of my wishlist for home are the candlesticks! those in your images are sublime!
ReplyDeleteOk, it is not fair that some people have houses like this.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this
ReplyDeleteThis is so gorgeous! I love the start of the Christmas season : )
ReplyDeleteIt is simply beautiful. Some few green leaves and branches and voilà! it breaths Christmas.
ReplyDeletethis interior is great, everything seems to be in the right place :)
ReplyDeletethat light blue cupboard + fireplace + chair with fur throw = winter wonderland heaven
ReplyDeleteWe have a gas fireplace in the apartment...and since fake logs are ridiculously expensive, I plan on filling it with candles instead. Then I'll grab a faux fur throw and pretend I'm in this Swedish cottage.
p.s. It's not as stylish, but feel free to come over to our apartment and bring as many of your delicious treats to the table as you'd like. We won't say no ;)
So Sweet ..
ReplyDeleteMy oh my, this is Christmas perfection!
ReplyDelete*swoon*
And about your question; everyone used to say I look SO much like my mother. Until they met my father! So I guess I have a bit of both, some of my moms features but my dads eyes and colors. He was a lapp, so I guess I have his cheekbones as well :)
Hugs and a happy Thursday!
Signe
Of course it's in Norway! I do wonder if there is such a thing as an unstylish Norwegian? I was so excited to see you were doing a Christmas post today! This house has totally got me in the festive mood!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful and charming cottage! I'm definitely getting into the festive mood now, Christmas is getting closer by the day and your post has me dreaming of a white Christmas... xx
