So, hubby spent the night in a beautiful hotel in Nice. I jealous? Not.at.all. Just google Nice France, then click images and you'll understand my pain!
As someone mentioned in a comment yesterday, I live in such a beautiful city. That is true so today I decided to show you a street, Wijngaardstraat (Google streetview), which I think is one of the most beautiful streets of Antwerp. I found this narrow cobblestone street by accident. I was walking all by myself, sort of knowing where I was going but not taking a direct route when all of a sudden I found myself entering Hendrik Conscienceplein square from Wolstraat and I honestly don't know what hit me. You know the feeling when you see something so beautiful that it almost makes your heart ache just a little? That was how I felt. The weather was beautiful, people were dining outside and the atmosphere was so relaxing and perfect. It almost felt like I had discovered a little secret.
Since then I've been there again and again. If you see someone roaming that street with a camera, latte and either a book or a magazine, or both, you've probably found me. I took these photos in September and I don't understand why I haven't shared them before.
So, hubby can have Nice and Cannes. I have Wijngaardstraat.
Have a beautiful Tuesday!

ReplyDeleteI love any street with cobblestones. For some reason, the streets above remind me of a hybrid of Madrid and Viennese streets. I love the architectural details, the balconies...and that big round tree!
ReplyDeleteOne day I'll join you in that walk! :)
And as for your hubby being in Nice....now Hayk AND I are BOTH none too pleased with him ;)

Dear Lisa,
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I want to thank you for your lovely holiday wishes. I'm sorry for the late reply. I'm so behind in all things. I hope you are fully recovered from the flu. I love the way you described the way your heart aches when you see something beautiful. I know how you feel. Thanks for sharing your beautiful city with us.
Wishing you and your family an amazing New Year
p.s. while your husband was in nice, my husband is in paris right now :-) listening to street jazz music on top of Sacrè Coeur.
