o for orange

There was a time in my life when I was obsessed with orange, I would call the colour that had me swooning a blend of rustic orange and terracotta. I would also call it the colour of Italy, Italy as I remember it. Have you been there? I think no one travels to Italy without the longing to return one day. The country is so rich in history and culture, and walking the streets of Rome, Florence or Venice marks one's heart. At least it marked mine.

For this orange post of mine Caitlin of Roost, a beautiful food blog, was so kind to allow me to use her collage. It's from her 'Ode to Italy' post, which simply makes my heart happy. If you have been to Italy you'll be taken straight back and if you haven't been there then what are you waiting for?

I kindly borrowed the bag photo from Nam of Streetfsn, a fabulous fashion blog that, as the name indicates, covers street style. In August last year there was this post on men's bags only which I loved and I couldn't get that particular photo out of my head. It reminded me of Italy. Maybe it was taken there, I don't know.

The frost has left Antwerp so I couldn't be happier. I hope you're having a good start of the week!

  3. Oh yes, Italy... Florence, Milan, Verona, Lake Maggiore... I'd love to go back one day soon. You're right, its the terracotta everywhere in courtyards, on windowsills, in accessories - very much like the colour in Italy.
    Have a great day.

  5. The orange and stone look very warming, I can understand a obsession for this color at times. I've only seen Rome which I loved but was a teenager so didn't suck up all the cultural prettiness very well;) I definitely want to see more of Italy. I might have said it before but France has always won over Italy so far when choosing. But I can't make a good judgement so I HAVE to go to Italy haha.

Loved your cathedral shots. Have a great new week Lisa!

  6. I know what you mean by obsessed with a color, I am a purple addicted person for ages now...aaa, at least 5 years and can not escape :))) I planned a trip to Venice last summer, but because of the new house investment, we had to waive! So, next is Spain and next Italy! Lovely orange images, I very much like those Italian little cars (even though I have seen a green one, splendid, in London last year!) Happy Monday for you as the frost left, but here we are deep in the snow and more will come! :*

  8. Scott Schuman spotted an orange street style trend during this NYFW. Not that I put too much thought into trends, but I'm just saying. :)
This is a beautiful collage, and yes, that photo with a bag looks like it was taken somewhere in Italy. I was in Italy in 2007, Rome, Florence, the Amalfi Coast, and ever since I've been longing to go back. I hope I will soon.
Wishing you a wonderful week, Lisa! xo

I was just trying to plan a vacation for this year over the weekend and was looking at different tours through Italy. It would be hard to narrow it down cause theres's so much to see there.
