I have been enjoying a sunny morning but it's about to rain so relaxing with a book and a muffin would be ideal. I just posted my apple and cinnamon muffins recipe on kitchen & aroma and before the common reaction oh no, don't tempt me ... I can't have any sweets ... I'm too fat ... I'm on a diet then relax and look at the recipe. There is only one tablespoon of coconut oil in it, no butter or refined sugar. In our household these muffins are called appins, a word my hubby made up. Well, I call them my I-need-to-manipulate-my-hubby muffins and they are delicious. Enjoy!

These look delicious indeed! And I LOVE cinnamon!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to save the recipe and make these upcoming weekend! I completely trust your taste buds :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of the relaxing part today.
Oh yum, could need a couple of those right now! :-)
ReplyDeletei'm ready to have on these for breakfast!
ReplyDeleteThese look so great (and not too bad for you either by the sounds of things - double win!) Yay!
ReplyDeleteWell these appins look delish and I love how healthy they sound. I practice moderation so I never have to be on a diet. Have you ever noticed that the word "die" is in there lol
ReplyDeleteWell I do have 2 beige ones of varying lengths so I suppose you could borrow one ;-)
rolala loves
I know I can always rely on you for healthy home-made desserts. I'm preparing this these days. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, there's still 100g of sugar, raw or not, it'll still affect the body in the same way apart from providing some trace minerals (the only good thing about raw sugar). But they certainly look yummy and like a special treat.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried using pears instead of apples? Whenever I have very ripe ones I use them in muffins and they taste absolutely fab!

Natalia: Of course sugar is sugar and sugar isn't healthy, but I'll choose the organic raw cane sugar over the other every day.
ReplyDeleteI only have an Icelandic list of nutritional value and according to it 100 g of muffins contain a total of 50 g sugar (27 g is added sugar) and 27 g fat. So I think it is only fair to say that this recipe is way healthier than the store bought stuff.
And I agree with you, pear muffins taste delicious.
These look delicious; I love the combination of cinnamon and apple + that they have minimal sugar is a bonus! xx
ReplyDeleteLook delicious¡¡¡ One coffe please¡¡
ReplyDeleteHihi, spring! Now aren't you quite the joker?!
ReplyDeleteStill snow around these parts, but now I am actually starting to long for spring with all the pretty imspiration to be found everywhere :)
I want a comfort appin!
Pretty please..?
Yum! Well in that case, I'm heading right over now!!! Ah who am I kidding? I'd still make them even if they weren't healthy but my body thanks you in advance. :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteMuffins = mmmm., cinnamon = mmmmmmm. I love it when you publish your recipes... mmm. PS: I'm currently looking at quitting sugar (because chocolate is my absolute vice!). xx
ReplyDeleteReally? No butter? Up on my list! :*
ReplyDeleteYum yum yum. They don't sound too bad for you so if you are going to have a sweet treat these are probably less likely to induce guilt!! xo
ReplyDeleteThank you Lisa! I'll pass it to Mr. NJAPD, who is a great cook!
ReplyDeleteAfar góðar múffur. Fyrir slysni tvöfaldaði ég reyndar sykurmagnið... það skaðaði bragðið ekkert ;o)
