artist: philippa stanton & the table

For some time I have been meaning to share Philippa Stanton's beautiful still life photography on the blog and I got her permission to do so. This summer I came across her work online and I was instantly smitten with her 'The Table' project, and I'm obviously not the only one, as she has about 136,000 followers on Instagram.

5ftinf is Philippa's alter ego, or so she says herself, and that is the name of her beautiful blog, where she also shares her photos, and her shop on Etsy, where you can purchase them.

I have featured some of my favourite 'The Table' photos in this post. Basically, Philippa photographs ordinary objects, mainly vintage pieces, with garden flowers and a cup of tea. As you can see, she arranges them beautifully on her table before taking a picture. There is something about these photos that goes straight to my heart. I find them very humble and they have that quality that makes you slow down.

I'm not an Instagram user but I'm wondering if those of you who use it are maybe already following her there.

This last photo is a bit different. She posted it on her blog to introduce her Etsy shop, so it's a photo of one of her photos. Beautifully done, I must say.
