vintage leather armchair

The vintage leather armchair is a popular topic in this household. I think A has been looking for the right
chair for years - in brown. Believe me, he has tried many, but he's not in a hurry to buy it because he
wants to find the right one and he will know it when he sees it.

When we decided to use part of the living room as a dining room we obviously had to rearrange the
furniture. Everything looks good but I have always felt that an
element is missing, I just couldn't pinpoint it. Then it dawned
on me; of course it's the brown leather armchair! It would
make the living room section complete.

Lately, I have been looking for inspirational photos online
and I'm sharing two with you. The chair to the right is by
Halo and is called Flea Market Chair. It has a vintage looking
leather upholstery that I find so beautiful. A loved it when
I showed it to him so there is a hope.

I also like the two chairs in the top photo. Okay, let me rephrase that, I love everything in that top
photo. That's a home on the Catalonian coast, in Spain, designed by Tom Kundig. The ceiling, the
windows ... sigh!

What's your relationship with leather armchairs? Do you have one?

  1. I've stayed away from leather armchairs and sofas so far. But I see a vintage leather armchair as a central piece in a home library or office or in the living room. I like the masculine vibe it evokes.

  2. I have a leather sofa which I love. It is becoming more and more distressed and weathered as it gets used plenty by 4 boys and 2 dogs ( yes, I allow my dogs on the sofa - shame on me!) I love these chairs you've shown. Hopefully your husband will too! X Sharon

  3. Oh good quality brown leather is the best, even stains and wear and tear just ads a wonderful patina. Will be interesting to see what you get in the end.
