Space: a bright vintage home office

I think the main reason why I fell flat for this space is the spring feel to it, at least in this particular photo. Well, that and the furniture, floorboards, fireplace and bookshelves (I wish I could zoom in and read the titles of all those books). And yes, let's not forget the flowers on the table. It's amazing how fresh flowers can make all the difference. I like the vintage vibe because the space is light and bright; not heavy, which is often the result with vintage styled rooms. You can see the rest of the house and read an interview with the owners on the website of Vogue US.

I find myself longing for spring, for sunny days and cherry blossoms, so that's probably why this space appeals so much to me. Is it too early to dream of spring?

Well, before spring arrives there is the fashion week season and the Oscars. Did you see the nominations? I'm always excited about the Oscars, whether I have seen the films or not. Even though I haven't seen Ben Affleck's Argo (2012) yet, I'm hoping the film does well at the Oscars. Maybe I just want to see him make another fun acceptance speech. (Do you remember his and Matt Damon's when they won for the screenplay of Good Will Hunting (1997)? Look it up on YouTube, it's priceless.) About fashion week season. A few weeks ago I wasn't excited about the upcoming shows at all but now I feel ready. Maybe it's all the fashion related books I have been reading lately.

  1. Truly a charming space. And no, it's not too early to dream of spring. As soon as December is over I wish spring came. Of course I saw the Oscars nominations. I've only seen Argo, Lincoln will arrive in our cinemas at the beginning of February and so will other nominated films, so I hope I'll see almost all of them before the ceremony. I have the feeling Lincoln will sweep most of the awards off. I don't know how good it is yet, but I usually like a little diversity. We'll see. Until then, I'm looking forward to the Golden Globes this Sunday. :)

  2. Já, það er eitthvað vorlegt við hana. Hvernig sólin fellur inn. Sem betur fer er ég ekki farin að hugsa um vor, svo langt eftir hérna megin :) Ég er bara búin að sjá Intouchables and var komin í stellingar fyrir Silver Linings Playbook um daginn en það gekk ekki. Svo ég er mjög spennt að fara að byrja.

  3. It's a perfect time to dream of spring! It's already in the air and any fresh flowers or even leaves make the feeling stronger and more real. I haven't thought of any cinema related events yet, it's not my thing, apart from the dresses.... :)
    Have a lovely weekend, Lisa!

  6. I just want to run up to those bookshelves and see what goodies are there. Of course it's not to early to long for spring. We're supposed to be getting a taste of some spring like weather in NYC this weekend and I'm sure not going to complain if decides to hang around longer ;-)

  9. Hi Lisa! It's the mantel that gets me in this photo. I love the ornate curves of it with the rectangular mirrors.

Hope your New Year is off to a fabulous start! xo
